Hey there!
We sign here. I starting teaching my daughter very simple words like "please" "thankyou" "more" and "all done" we she was less than a year. I really wanted to give her a voice so she could stop the "ehh ehh" thing and pointing. She picked up quick each new word took less then a day. She is two now and speaks very very well. She does not need these signs anymore but still uses them anyhow. Especially if she is needing to speak with a mouth full of food. She is also very very polite little girl! I recommend all parents who are curious, dive in, give it a try! It is easier than you might think.
