Where Do You Get Your Traffic?

Traffic is one of those topics that is on the minds of many bloggers, in particular, how to gain more.

I have played with EntreCard and that seems to bring a reasonable amount of traffic, anything from 10 to 150 visitors per day depending on how many ads I have out there.

Paid StumbleUpon brings in plenty of traffic and at only five cents per click it is reasonable prices, particularly when you compare it to Adwords which go for anything up to $1.50 per click depending on the keyword used. The big problem with StumbleUpon is that it is a little like EntreCard, less than sixty second on the site and only the one page read. High bounce rate.

Better Visitors, whose ad is near the top of the sidebar, are fairly good. $15.00 for 2000 targeted visitors is less than one cent per click. They tend to stay and read a few pages as well. You can get 15000 visitors for around $40.00 - that is a really good price for targeted visitors. They have a good affiliate program as well.

Whilst on the subject of affiliate programs, if you use a search engine on a regular basis then My Search Funds may be an ideal opportunity to make a couple of dollars while searching. You seem they pay you to search. Not a fortune and the search is UK based although you still get the Google search the web option. If you want to get paid for searching, give them a try. They have an affiliate program as well. Their link is at the top of the sidebar.

Two questions that I would be interested to see answers too. Where do you get your traffic from? And. What affiliate programs work for you?

I am so close to cashing out on Google Adsense its not funny, very frustrating though. I have been a couple of clicks away from the magic $100 for about two weeks now. The minute I get the $100 payout target I am axing the ads. They take up more space than they return in dollars.

I would love to hear your views on traffic and affiliate programs.

TrafficSwarm

I was with trafficswarm for several months and never really noticed any benefits. I think the only real plus for getting traffic has been BetterVisitors - but only about 10% of them produce any value.

Getting better Google ranking and free search traffic has to be the way to go - SEO is not that easy.

I get the majority of my traffic from Entrecard. I've made many good friends and exchanged links. I also get much of my traffic from WAHM forums, blog forums and mom blog forums. Some of it comes from Google.

Here from Entrecard too

I also got here via Entre Card. (However, I can never seem to drop more than say 100 cards in a day because I do stop and read blogs if they interest me.) I get most of my traffic from Entre Card but I find that getting out there and commenting on other blogs really helps get targeted traffic, and traffic that will often be a "repeat customer". Good post, thanks.

Website Traffic

Hi! I found you through EntreCard and I stopped to read. :) Thanks for the info on bettervisitors. I'm going to research it and probably try it. AdWords is expensive! That's how I get most of my traffic now of people who actually want to be there. :p

Traffic and Affiliates

I've had pretty good luck blogging about the top Google Trend subjects and pounding keywords-sometimes this is hard as the top topics often hold little interest for me.

Using Digg, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Fark, Reddit, etc, etc, etc can get a few random hits from time to time. I once got about ten thousand hits in one day by hitting the front page of Fark.

I get the bulk of my hits from good old fashioned Google searches.

Amazon.com has been my most consistent affiliate paycheck, since they sell just about everything in the known universe it is easy to slap in a few text links for something available on Amazon.

Adsense has been fairly steady as well, but I have yet to figure out how to make more than a hundred or so a month.

I have signed up for a number of affiliate programs on CJ.com and my only sales have been a handful of London Passes. This too is a work in progress.

Best of luck.

Traffic

I get a lot of traffic coming in from Entrecard but a good deal of them just click and leave. I believe in getting yourself out there as much as possible. You have to become your own salesperson. Most importantly you need to have great content and learn about SEO. Search engines can bring in a ton of people but they have to see your site as worth it before you will rank high on the results.

Okay I just about started to write a whole novel and decided that I should just make a post in my blog about it now since I have not yet. LOL

I will add this because I do not think I will be saying this in the blog. I do not know if I want all my secrets out there. LOL

Anytime you see things that you like on other people's blogs or websites make sure to look around for clues as to if they really created it or if it is actually something you too can have. There are a lot of affiliate stores that are ready for the taking you just have to find them.

Shhhh this is a secret. If you look at my card store the domain name is yourfunfamily.cceasy.com - That is because cceasy does everything I just have to promote the store and get commission. My other store has a thing on the site that says powered by Amazon - same thing I just sit back and get commission. Look for clues on sites and you will find more stores like that. Also look for links on the bottom of pages. NEVER do any of the ones that charge you. No legitimate company will charge you to sell their products.

I hope you will come and check out the blog post I will be making. Your post has got me all excited thinking of what all to add. LOL

traffic

Most of my visits come from Linkreferral. I also get visits directed from Blog Catalog and Propeller. About affiliates, I have to yet to find a real earner affiliate program.

My website traffic

I try to drive most traffic from organic SEO. I do use EntreCard and stumbleUpon as well. However they do not deliver any where near the amount of traffic Google and Yahoo do.

I also get allot of traffic from MyBlogLog & BlogCatalog.

Now, Google Adsense is an excellent program if your pages are optimized for good ad's. Placement is key to doing well with Google Adsense.
