Who Am I?

Who am I and why have I created this blog site?

I am a mature (50+) second time around father of 4 lovely little girls, all under 5. There are so many sites out there for parents, particularly mothers, and yet not so many for the more mature parents, particularly fathers - I include here aunts, uncles and grandparents etc who for one reason or another find themselves acting in the role of parent for young children.

That is one of the why's. Another of course is that I hope to make a dollar or two. While a a lot of people put together sites like this hoping to make a fortune by attracting a lot of traffic, (but never admitting it). I'll be honest, I know I will never be a millionaire but if I can get a dollar or two from Mr Google then I will. Even if it only helps to pay for this site. So if your inclined please feel free to click on any of the google links here. Every few cents helps.

Finally, who am I. My name is Les, I live in a regional area in Australia. As I said I am post 50 (just). I have spent most of my life in either adult education or psychology. I have enjoyed my career in adult education, however around 12 months ago I suffered the worst fate of all for a professional or semi-professional, and that is burn-out. So now I am slowly re-building my own capabilities to earn in areas that are not so pressurized, can be done either part time, or better yet, from home.

So I have a broad knowledge of psychology, children, parenting and education. I am full of advice at times although most people get frustrated as my advice normally canvasses a range of options - but after all, the final decision has to be yours.

My hopes for this site? I hope to get as many parents as possible visiting; helping each other; or just hanging out. I am particularly keen to see the more mature parents visiting, especially fathers. So if you know anyone who fits, send them along.

You have a powerful voice

Kudo's to you Les for doing this site. You have a powerful voice that can impact the lives of many parents. Much Success. There is much information out there to educate parents but a site like your blog can reach some folks where other non user-friendly informational sites might not.
Thanks for all your hard work.
