Newborn 'left unattended in locked car'

What is it with parents? Are our children not precious? This story from the The Australian reports a couple who left their child (apparently a new born) alone in a locked car park while they went shopping. The couple said they had been gone 30 minutes, shopkeepers say it was over an hour. It doesn't matter. It only takes ten minutes in our hot summer conditions and that child could have suffered severe organ damage, brain damage or even death. When will parents wake up and learn?

Reminds me of the case here in the States where two doctors 'forgot' to drop off their infant at daycare and left him in the car while they both went to work. I can not understand how people can be so careless with their children!

It was only a couple of weeks ago that a young child died because the parents 'forgot; the child was still in the car

There has been an incident where a child has been left in the car while the dad went into a brothel and a few incidents where a child was left in the car while the mom or dad went into a casino--one time for 8 hours! Unbelievable!
