I'm a 14 year old girl and I've always loved dolls and babies. I found out about reborns 2 years ago and I fell in love with them, on my last birthday I finally got my gorgeous girl. All my family love her (including my dad) and it's not at all creepy or like a dead baby, in fact it's incredibly soothing. If my mum's had a bad day she loves holding her because she's so comforting. I am now looking into getting another reborn, a boy this time. If anyone knows where I can get a reasonably priced boy from 9 months+ size then let me know please :)

I think you are strange for thinking reborn dolls are weird.Maybe we just want to have a doll instead of taking care of a real baby they need around the clock care and it takes money to raise a child.I myself am not ready for the real thing and I think reborn dolls are a great thing intell I'm ready.

These babies are so real looking, you can see how a cop could confuse it for a real baby. It kinda creeps me out to look at them knowing they aren't real. I agree that they should be used to teach young kids how to take care of a baby and how hard it is. But I think having a fake baby in your car in a car seat is a little over the top...!

You can get baby reborn through www.trademe.co.nz - I am sure some of the ads on this page take you through to New Zealand dealers as well.

Otherwise, postage can make them well over the NZ$750 mark - shop locally and they should be cheaper - trademe has them starting at around $80 and going through to $600-700.

http://www.andamagalleries.com.au/ also sell them with prices starting at around $200 and going through to $500 plus. They are one-of-a-kind reborn babies - each unique. Postage to New Zealand should be less than $50 depending on insurance.

I have one of these, actually if I'm honest I'm holding him right now! I'm 17 and really want a baby too, but I guess having my reborn is the substitute to a real baby! I think their great, I'm all ways buying him new clothes too haha

Personally I don't know what's wrong with them "/ I think their really great creations as they are so lifelike!

The only trouble is when I tell people he's a reborn they go all funny! Its like its bad to have a reborn, which I don't think it is, and I know my mum doesn't like them, but I bet she'd rather me have a reborn than go out and get myself pregnant at 17!

thease dolls are adorable, i wish i had one im gonna save up my 12th birthday money to get one, but because my familys quite poor i'm only gonna get £5o alltogether :( boo hoo! oh i wish o had one non of my family like them and they keep being mean to me and shouting dead baby in my face it really hurts sometimes oh i want one soo much :(

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I agree with you - I think they are a great way to teach teens some of the skills required to become a parent.

Unfortunately, the baby doll doesn't quite act like a real baby. It doesn't have dirty nappies, want feeding at all hours of the day or night - or go through tummy pains and teething.

Having said that, a real baby also brings a lot of joy like their first words, first steps and the live interaction.

I hope you do get a baby doll and can learn some of the parenting skills required. Good luck.

I think some people go over the top but treating them like a real baby isen't that bad like it would be great for teenagers like myself who want a baby but are to young to have one. I can't wait to get one.

I started to work with babiessince I was a Girl and I have a even 90 years old clients that loves these realist babies.

I think these dolls are very cute! I've had three anatomically correct newborn baby girls so far, and I'm going to get another one in January. I'm one of those women who loves newborn babies but doesn't want a real one of my own. And because I'm developmentally disabled and can't get out much where I live, this is a wonderful hobby. What's wrong with changing these dolls' diapers, caring for, and nurturing them as if they were real newborn babies? Some of us just don't want to put up with the stress and demands of waking up to a crying baby needing a 2am feeding, that's all.

i have one and i do take her out side sometime's and i am getting another one my husbend and i cant have kid's and we cant aford to adopt so this is the next best thing

I think they are strange. I'm not sure why someone would treat dolls like real babies when there are plenty of real live children who need families to give them love.

These dolls look amazingly real. I can understand how kids would love them, but can't imagine how they could ever take the place of a real baby.
