Stress is a part of life. In fact there is a good argument to suggest that stress is actually good for us. It is too much stress that is bad for us, or not knowing how to unwind and de-stress. How do you get de-stress? I know getting buried in a good book helps me to escape stressful periods. However, sometimes I get so immersed that time flies. Then I am behind in everything - thus creating stress. I don't think there's any stress in this family photo. Let's look at some stressful situations in life:
Moving House
Life is full of stressful situations. However, I have learned over the years that some things are only stressful if you let them. Take moving house as an example. Moving Distractions are Costly when it comes to time. Get your timing wrong and it could be costly for your wallet as well. Rather than letting it stress you, taking control, pushing the distractions aside and getting it done is far more than productive than standing there stressing about being behind schedule.
Starting a Business
A little stress is good when a starting a business. It should help to keep you on your toes and alert to any potential problems. However, planning before you even open your doors can help prevent some stressful situations as well. Financial planning is one of the most important areas to concentrate on. You need to determine when cash flow periods are going to be high and when they are going to be low. Don't open a business door half way through a high cash flow cycle. By the time you build a customer base you will be into the low cash flow part of the cycle. There is a good post - Plan For Risky Business and Succeed Worry Free! - that goes into this topic. Relieve stress by not putting yourself into stressful situations.
Working from Home
This is another area where doing your homework first can help to reduce stress in the first place. If you are looking at medical transcription then get the Medical Transcription Training FAQs first. If you want to sell cosmetics, talk to other sellers. If you want to start an online business, research the niche and how you intend to earn an income. The more information you have to start with, the less surprises, and stress, you will encounter along the way.
Playing Games
Another of my favourites is playing games although I just don't seem to have the time these days. The games I play tend to take hours or even days to play. However, they don't have to. Here is one site that is offering Stress Relief Games For Higher Quality Life and they seem to be free. Now that's a de-stressing word to start with.
How do you de-stress?
